Help with Shimano FD-M739, Deore XT

About a year ago, I was cleaning a front derailleur that came from my bin and I think this S shaped clip came loose from it. (It is next to the derailleur in the picture) Tried looking on line to figure where or and how I can put it back, but with no luck. Is it possible it came from a different part?

Any help would be appreciated.

It is part of the mech. Difficult to describe exactly where it goes, but it kind of hooks onto two of the pivots in the linkage mechanism.
I'll try and find a picture, or failing that take a photo of one that I have...
