Help to value late brothers cycles

crumbs

Retro Newbie
I am looking for assistance in valuing my late brother's specialist cycles, which I believe may have been hand built, in order that I can dispose of same.

Two were built by Charlie Ralph of Alves bikes and are road bikes. One of these is bespoke and in fact has my brothers name on it.

The third bike is a Dave Yates time trial bike with the front wheel being smaller than the rear. I understand these bikes are no longer road legal(?).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re:

Hi, thanks for response.

Yes, I have photos of which I attach one of each bike.

Let me know your thoughts.

Thank you

Re:

Very nice bikes, and sorry for the loss of your brother.
I don’t believe the small front wheel is illegal for the road, but I am probably right in saying it’s not a design used any more in competition (possibly against competitive cycling rules). It’s the most eye-catching of the frames here for sure, in my opinion, though I do like a Yates.
I know there are followers of Alves on the forum.
The parts look like upper-mid range Campag, Chorus rather than top line Record.
Certainly have been well looked after.
Price-wise, others will comment but I think most people would consider any one of these a good deal (as a buyer) at £200, so you might consider that a low-end.

Thank you for the prompt response and additional message.

Yes the majority of the kit is Campag.

Your input is very helpful.

The UCI mandates that both wheels must be the same size. As far as I know it's still permitted in CTT events, and legal for the road.

personally i'd put them on ebay, with lots of good photos and a clear description (folk here can probably help if needed)
