Help please - Steel GT serial numbers

Hodaka only did the mid to higher end GT models. They didn't produce the Outpost Trail, Outpost, Talera, Timberlines entry/low to mid models.
SY serial numbers were built at Sanfa.

Seriously? The Outpost was a seat tube cromoly hi-tensile steel tube frame. 10's of thousands were sold globally. Depending upon the year they sold new for 269-299. If the frame is the "heart of the bike" and you really want to build something up, why wouldn't you start with a nicer frame? These are not light frames.

Different bikes suit different people and it's a very nice colour.

If you have any frame numbers you would like to chare they would be very gratefully received.

Hi guys. I bought a bike job lot and found out that I was the owner of a nice all chromed GT bike. I usually basically save random bikes from the bin but I want to do this GT properly, it looks soo good, I felt in love
So, here I am, I need some help to identify it as my research on the web was unsuccessful. Under the bottom bracket, I have : S9AY03174 on one side and 062 on the other side. Shifters are ST-MC18, derailleur is RD-MC18 which seems to be made in 1999. I will attach some pictures but just realise that I don’t have one of the entire bike. Thanks.

I have less data for the later frames, but that frame number fits with the frame being made in 1999 in Taiwan. Thank you for sharing. If I can decipher anything further I will share it.

I don't have enough data to know whether that is possible to identify from the frame number on the later 90s models. It is possible on the ealier ones.
I had a quick look for the 99 catalogue, but didn't find it.
