Hi, I'm helping a friend indentifiyng the Bianchi he bought in a market. I've haven't seen the actual bike but just the pictures posted here below. I think the rear mech is a campag 980 so the bike should be early 80's although I couldn't find any information on the crankset (AERO CORONADO?) - do you think it is a replacement? Which model/year you think the bike could be? Maybe a Rekord 1982? Thanks!

Chainset is made by Thun, a German component manufacturer which is exactly the right era i.e. early 1980s for the rest of the bike - it was common to upgrade the likes of the rear mech and cut corners elsewhere - the pressed rear drop-out suggests a more base-level bike - browsing the catalogues of that era would suggest the Strada - the Rekord has better quality lugwork and no rear mudguard eyes

Should have added that because it's red, it's probably a German model - they don't like the celeste colour, considered too baby-ish

Thanks Monty, I did another bit of research and I think you might be right - strada '81-'82 seems to be the closest. Do you have any idea of the value either as it is or restored?
