I've just got hold of a Hayes MX2 mechanical disc brake, with 160mm rotor. It's seems to be post mount, but has come with an adapter to fit what I assume is an IS fitting. The screws on the adapter are the same distance apart as the mount holes on my fork (Rock Shox Psylo XC), but the shape of adapter means that it's too big to actually fit. You can see in the photo below that there isn't enough clearance for the adaptor, and the front of it hits the back of the fork leg. Can anyone clarify what's going wrong here, and point me in the direction of an adapter which might work please? I don't know how to tell whether anything I buy will have the same problem!
Also, what size are standard rotor bolts? I don't fancy paying £13 for the official Hayes bolts when I can doubtless pick up the correct size for pennies elsewhere.
Any help much appreciated, as this is the first time I've had discs so I'm all at sea with them! :?
