Having had the frame a while in bits, I thought it about time I built it up as I have been thinking about moving one of my STS frames on (is two greedy?). It has turned out rather nice imho, though having a big parts bin helped with that I think.
The only 'new' bits not from the parts bin were a couple of metres of gear outer cable and the dropper post. The 'USE' stem was also newish, though it was to replace the 'USE' stem I had so that I could run the 31.8 bars.
Frame number indicates it is a December 97, so just makes the retro grade.

It seems to run really nicely, the only things I should do at some point are:
- Service the dropper post as it has a little play
- Add frame decals. I have a new set of original decals but I have only fitted the head tube one, which was a little problematic as the decal did not peel from the front sheet without lifting the colour. I've touched this up but a little reluctant to try with the others until I can figure out how to fit without the same issue - any ideas?
- Swap the dropper remote lever for a red one I have on the way courtesy of a generous member.
- Decide if I want to swap the stem for an Easton Haven I have. Shorter than the USE (85mm rather than 120mm).
- Pedals may be switched to some egg beater 2s.
- Possibly fit a carbon brake booster to the rear. I have a matching pair but they never look good on forks do they?
Open to other suggestions or comments on any of the above.
Anyone know much about the rear shock? Not sure what pressure to run it at really and whilst it feels pretty good on the limited test run I went on, I don't want to put too much in so it would be good to know what it should be
Apologies for the pic quality, I will get some better ones in daylight.
