Because there was under an hour left of the auction, at this time who ever is the highest bidder win the auction, hence why I had too speak to the buyer to agree to cancel.

I understand completely why eBay holds your funds now ….

Auctions should run their course and be honoured. You even said on this thread you had time to post if sorted before you went.

Makes no odds to me but don’t moan on here about eBay rules and then pick and chose what to follow.

How can I post them when am in Holland?
Auction that I ended was after 3pm, today I have been running round getting things I need for when I go away.

My original date for travel was the 20th Friday so plenty of time for auctions to end and post out.
Then am told no travel is now on 18th Wednesday flight 9.am so no chance too post last minute.

I guess you were bidding that’s why you seem upset about the whole affair, but I can tell you now my reason was genuine and the decision I made wasn’t taken lightly.

Am sure most people have other people in there household who will post things for them, I don’t have that option,
myself having things I need for my job that pays my bills etc, is more important too me then a pair of 30+ year old forks.

And for the record I also cancelled other listing that had no bidders on because of the same reasons above.
When I get back those items may be listed again, but eBay won’t let you do 8 week long listings.

No I wasn’t bidding but I was watching them hence I knew they sold and quite. cheap too 😉

I’m hardly upset but just think it’s ironic you were one of the people complaining about eBay on here keeping funds and then literally the next day pulling out of a sale.

It was Monday (yesterday) at 3pm when they sold and you literally said a few posts ago on here you’d sort before the post office closes today for someone.

Anyway I wouldn’t want to distract you from your packing ….

I listed trainers that I had boxes for I would have been at the post office to buy a box for the forks, while there.

I didn’t buy any, and I have told @Spudalumps that they won’t be for sale till am back in 6-8 weeks, at all they fit 20” early 90’s GTs I maybe in a better position financially when I return.

The auction stopped at £30 odd because I stopping it, as we have already gone over….
And the sale cancelled that was agreed by myself AND the buyer (who hadn’t paid for the item) as I will be away for too long (March 10th proposed)

Anyway first case is done.

You didn’t stop the auction though. They SOLD and then you messaged the buyer with your excuse to cancel. But they did sell and if you were obeying the eBay rules strictly then the contract is formed which you broke.

And then you relisted them and ended soon after.

Just so you can understand that they sold I’ve attached a screenshot for your viewing pleasure. Notice the word circled / time they ended compared to your messages to the buyer.

😂😂😂😂

None of this matters there in my home and going nowhere.
The buyer accepted my explanation, and that was that according to eBay rule the sale was cancelled end of story, I really would have expected the buyer too be more upset than they were, but for someone who wasn’t involved your getting mighty upset.

I guess you going to next say it’s not my welding screen, boots and other work items in my case now too.
