grip suggestions.....

:D .....hi folks....i'm after your suggestions for some grips.....i dont mind lock ons, but feel that older style, hairspray jobs will suit the bikes better.....i like the extra diameter and feel of mushroom styled ones, that are not too harsh on ungloved hands, but i want the flexibility of being able to move them in to fit bar ends, and no huge flanged ends to allow access to thumshifters....what are you using that you are impressed with at the minute?.....many thanks....darren :D

foam grips work for me and they don't need to be on the ends of the handlebar.
I have a set of generic foam grips on both my retro riders, and am very pleased with them.

I have two pairs of ESI silicon grips to fit, a pair of Racers edge and a pair of Chunky. Read a bit about them and they seem to be grip du jour at the mo.

Oury- very comfy and stylish. Lock on's I have a couple of pairs of Strange ones from Orange , which are comfortable yet simple looking

Good old fashioned grip tape... you can lay it on as thick or as thin as you want, position it where you want, and is very comfortable

or maybe I am just a ludite

I just bought an old Specialized bar with had the original grips on them. No idea what they were. When I got them they turned out to be old Oakley Threes Cobra style. I love them! The grip is amazing!
If your bike is pre 1985 they would suit it, otherwise just forget this comment!!

I fitted Onza Porcipaws (always get the spelling wrong with those) to the Zaskar - always loved them; nice straight grip - work well with or without bar-ends. They still make, I think, red, blue and black but for my favourite purple colour you have to go to <members name removed so there's another pair left for me later> to ge them. :)

+1 for Ourys, who also do a lock-on version; and I really like Ritchey Truegrips (you can customise the lock-on version by buying cheap lock-ons from the Far East with the particular colour ano collars you're after ;) ).

ODI Attacks.

Yes you have to cookie cutter the ends out.... But there never has and probably never will be a better grip.
