Got me a stripey one

Hey guys, just picked up this diamondback and was wondering what it was worth roughly, I am not too sure whether to keep as the frame is on the smaller side.

Can anybody also help with the standard spec etc as i plan to get it shiney n original before it goes

Think I had one of these, Apex EX or something like that? My one had full DX groupo and only cost about £50 from ebay. It was mint as well.

If selling as is I'd expect £40-50. More if you fix it up but probably not enough more to cover the price of the extra parts.

Thought I'd replied to this already, it appears to be a 91 Ascent EX.

Spec would have been AVR double butted frameset, predominantly Deore LX groupset, Araya RX7 rims.

Are the stickers completely fubar?

If so, there's people on here (gil_m and others) who make up and sell decals. If not, I'd leave them on - helps with identification in years to come.

I nearly bought one in 91, but the salesman (well spotty oik, really) told me the Apex (the next model up) was much better...

Which was kind of a stretch, the Apex had a slightly better groupset and wheels, but the same frame and forks.

Don't really have a feel for the prices, myself. DBs don't seem to attract quite the same interest as some other models - which is good if you're a buyer. If it's a good size, in reasonable condition, and priced keenly, I suspect somebody will snap it up.

You'll probably get more, and find it easier to sell, split up, but some of that will depend on how good condition the parts are.
