If you're still looking I have a set of 80s/early 90s wheels with XT hubs that are rim brake.

But something I've just remembered is that the wheels are 7 speed, not 8 like you're after. But it's not a major issue as I actually have a spare one of the XT M732 hubs like in the rear wheel, so can take it's 8 speed freehub and replace the 7 speed one on the wheel, seeing as they're compatible. Will then just need to reposition the axle spacers to correct the fact that there will be a longer freehub body fitted.
