Stunning piece of history GLWS.

 he was very polite and extremely enthusiastic, certainly made the forum sound very welcoming! There was talk of a group buy....would be great if many people, as opposed to just one, could have access to the bike.

Re: JMC Specialized S-Works FSR Team race bike 1994/95

Have you contacted Specialized for their archive? And you're based in Manchester right?

Re: JMC Specialized S-Works FSR Team race bike 1994/95

Specialized uk have more than one JMC bike stashed away at their HQ....

Lovely bike, hope it goes to a good home but 5K even for a piece of History such as this is a lot of money... (As a huge JMC fan I would love it but sadly can't afford it)

I also would love to be proved wrong but I think because this is more XC set up its less likely to have been raced at Mammoth (at least in the Kamikazee type race) because it's a standard rear linkage and shock and lacks any chain retention which no Grundig rider would have been without! it does look like the 95 Cactus Cup bike (as photo'd on the rider cards he had) but I can't see it being a full race bike...

Re:

I have it on good authority from Jason's dad Jim that it was indeed raced at mammoth mountain, it is also stated on the certificate Jim gave me. Price wise it's down to the individual opinion of potential buyers, I am open to offers. I personally think it's worth every penny but needs must and it is being sold to help keep my business afloat :|

Re:

It's nice to see that you've joined up :)

I also think it's fair to say that you have a bike that most on here would love to own, but few on here could afford (myself included).

We did consider a group purchase (I even put a bid on for it when you listed it on eBay). Sadly that didn't come to anything, not least because of the logistics of having dozens of people owning the same bike!

Best of luck with the sale :)

Re:

Any interest in Jason's bike? It's almost embarrassing nearly having to beg people to buy this race machine, I REALLY need the funds now otherwise it would be staying!
OPEN TO OFFERS!

Re: JMC Specialized S-Works FSR Team race bike 1994/95

I wish I could buy this. Such a piece of (UK) Mountain Biking history let alone all the rest
