Gios Torino Super Record Paris-Roubaix 1977

At L'Eroica 2010 Gios Torino present this model. It's a re-issue of the successful bike used by the famous Brooklyn team. Specific a re-issue of the bike Roger de Vlaeminck's fourth victory in Paris-Roubaix.

Always been a great fan of De Vlaeminck and somewhere in 1980 I bought my first Gios Torino.

Marco (son of Aldo) Gios explained this model will produced in only 35 pieces.
For me there is a lot of history on this bike so a few months later I picked up the frame in Italy.

Note : after the separation there are two Gios company's. It's confusion but my heart goes out to the Torino-part. That means also you must go to Italy to buy your frame. But it's not so hard to visit Italy :mrgreen:

After a visit (spring 2011) to some friends in Italy I came back with a lot of souvenirs including the Gios Torino SR PR 1977

I also became a article from an Italian magazine

I had the plan to use the bike for Paris-Roubaix Ciclosturist 2012. The first plan was to build the bike with modern alu Campa parts.

But after a few good nights the plan even get's better................

Also some good and great dreams. Dreaming about my first two Gios Torino bike's and some great adventures.

And................the south of France

An dreamed about those great Brooklyn years...........

I also dreamed about that great Campa 50 anni group................

So when I weak up there was just only one thing in my mind: 50 anni group!

Ok it's not time correct but I'm not looking for correct I'm looking for fun!

So I called the project team together and told my plan

Just put as many 50 anni parts on it! But don't pay to much.

And searching was on........................

Some 50 anni parts are hard to find. So somes parts I used some other nice stuff. But I'still try to find the rest of the 50 anni group

Very nice Marchisio freewheel. It's also good. Not much noise and shifting is great!

At the start of this topic I mention that I going to us this Gios Torino for Paris-Roubaix..............

And so I did

Last year (2012)

On the first sector off cobblestones at Troisville. Start Early so sunset is lovely.................

At Wallers Arenberg the famous forest with very nasty stones.

Temperature rises and so more summer outfit............. Still a lot of pave to go

It was my 4th and like Roger de Vlaeminck at it 4th victory I ride with number 27. Special request

Here riding on the last part of the famous section of Carrefour de L'Arbre.

I but also the bike did a great job. A frame like this is born to attack the cobblestones. The Campy 50 anni parts also keep well. Great bike, great event, great day

My wife also was very pleased and see take a lot of great pics this day. Love here!
