FS: White Industries LMDS system with new cable, spare parts

radmondo

Retro Newbie
I have for sale a complete White Industries LMDS rear derailleur system, in good working order. Included is the rear derailleur, rear shifter, a spare proprietary derailleur cable in addition to the one currently attached (which has been cut), 3 cable stop splitters to facilitate installation, and a spare linear bearing, should the originals go kaput. The system works great, and is all original aside from the derailleur's cable fixing screw, which I've replaced with a normal flat-head screwdriver screw. A replacement grub bolt to bring it back to original spec should not be difficult. System has seen very low mileage. $400 OBO.

Tempting, but out of my price range. I've been spending too much lately as it is, this would put me in the doghouse for a month. :p

Re: LDMS

Hey there,

I know this thread is super old but I am curious if you still have this thing. Been searching for a LDMS for a sweet build... Please let me know! Thanks!

Bloody hell!

Is that thing real? Looks so delicate!

I would love to see that installed ;)

Me too, looks like an overly complex answer to a problem that doesn't truly exist.
And in the process you end up with double the amount of cables on a push me pull me system.

Thanks for the link Gerard, quite an education.

Re:

It uses one continuous custom-made cable  . These aren't available any more, but I think tandem cables can be used with a bit of fettling.
I haven't tried mine yet, but apparently they work well. As there's no return-spring, the single cable system makes it self aligning.

The weakest point is the 2 piece alum' hanger bolt which is guaranteed to break, and is too annoyingly complex to have replacements easily made.

I absolutely love 'em though - the ultimate in derailleur design!
