Olangero 1990s Columbus Max frame and forks for sale.
Seat tube 56cms (ctt),Top tube 55cms (ctc), rear drop out width is 130mm and the bottom bracket is Italian thread.
The frame was likely to have been made by Vanni Losa who built for Casati and Cinelli, it has his signature heart shaped lug cut outs. Also check out the beautiful Columbus Max aero forks. The paint work is by Carlos Dossena and is a lustrous pearl colour complimented by the black cutouts and chromed rear stays.
Included in the sale is the Campagnolo Record headset and seat pin bolt.
I had this built-up with Campagnolo Athena 11 speed groupset and Zonda wheels. Because of the oversized Columbus Max tubing the bottom bracket is very stiff for a steel frame, which makes for a responsive and efficient riding experience. I'm happy to leave the ergo mounts and BB cups on or will remover if the buyer so wishes.
In an ideal world I'd keep this frameset and build it up again with a suitable period gruppo, but its just a couple of centimetres to large for me (finally admitted to myself ). It a stunning and usual frameset and I'll be sorry to see it go, but whoever buys it will have the basis for a very nice build.
Condition wise, there are two very minor marks under the down tube, a touch of tyre rub and a tiny speck of discolouration of paint under the internal cable mount on toptube (these can be seen in the links below). Otherwise, its in very good condition as can be seen in the attachments.
