ok, so after the terrible credit crunch has screwed my finances royally and a severe lack of space i am having to let the dave russell (reliably informed but not guaranteed - where can i check a frame no.?) frame i got from this forum go...

Custom lugged steel frameset, Reasonably light (4.5lbs) and with a nice zing to the tubeset.

Quite minimalist handcut lugs with triangular cutouts on the head and seattube. Nervex-style BB shell. Interesting seat cluster - the seatpost is secured by means of a grub screw. Two sets of bottle bosses, D/T shifter bosses, pump peg, chain pip, internally routed rear brake cable. 1" headtube, 130mm dropout spacing.

60cm C-T, 58cm TT. Angles unknown. Sprayed by Argos in a metallic purple (like the Cadbury's colour) and never built up, but hung in a workshop so has some marks here and there. it has an Argos paintjob that would cost £110 to get done today.

i have gone to the effort of getting it some beautiful chrome forks, cinelli bars and stem, shimano cranks/rear derrailer brakes and levers.. also a green brooks comp(?) saddle cut like a swallow

i have planned to treat it to a silver king headset and green brooks bar tape, also needs braze on shifters/pedals/front mech and cables/chain... otherwise good to go!

it looks so gorgeous and i know if i finish the build i will never be able to say goodbye

i think £200 plus postage is a bargain price and would hope ebay would double that if this fails...

When I first saw it and read that it was in Yorkshire I thought it was one of my old frames! However, the seat clamp arrangement is wrong. Mine was built in '71 and I had to sell it very quickly for basically the same reasons as you. After I had it it did some very fast TT times under the buyer and I would love to know if it still exists.
