Retro Newbie
I am finally having a clear out of my bike bits.

I bought these rims in about 1998 and used them for 2 weeks in Lanzarote. When I got back I sourced some carbon rim race wheels and these have sat unused ever since. Finally now I am clearing out.

I know these are very rare and sought after for retro builds so hopefully someone is after a pair at the moment.

great rims weighing only 392 grams.

Not sure on price but hoping for around £80 so make me an offer.

Cheers

Nick

I found this review on VeloBase:
Years ago Jobst Brandt did some rim stiffness tests and this rim was amongst the very best tested, exceeding that of the Zipp 808, which had just come out when Jobst was testing. Seeing this article I set about to find a set which was a bit of a task but not impossible. I built them up on Campy 10 speed hubs with Sapim spokes and was very impressed, I even won a Cat3 race with them prior to upgrading. The brake surface has a 'shot-peened' type of finish which provides some of the best braking I have ever experienced and never squeels, though it wears away quickly (espescially in the wet). Overall I would argue that this is perhaps the finest semi-aero tubular rim ever produced; and I have used similar tubular offerings from Assos, Araya & Velocity.
