Its no use, no matter how many times you bump it 47cm never comes out as 17".

Further to this comment, does anyone know how teh Votager compares in size to an early 90s 18" GT Karakoram. Age and glass back dictates that high seat isn't an option so top tube length is more important.

these are quite big - same top tube length as my 18" Zaskar but with the longer head tube, makes for a 'large' sized 19/20 inch frame.

Much as I like the look of it, that seals it. I'd need it to be a 'small' 18" to have any chance, my 18" Karakoram is as big as I can get away with.
