Found that annoying little creak today

Correcting myself - they are RS3. Seen this type of failure several times on this site.
It's certainly making me wary of CNC cranks. I don't think the machining finish on them is particularly great! Seems odd to forge something then negate the benefits of doing so by machining through...🤔
I've got fully forged cranks lighter than those...bigger BCD spider too not as pretty though 😆
 
The even earlier Middleburn RS1 are right spindly things. The RS3 is a pretty old crank to be fair.

The RS7 had a DH warranty. The RS8 had slightly more machining out of the back, lighter and intended for XC.

Got RS7 and RS8 on a few bikes and love them. Very solid feel to them. The finish on them is not polished shiny.

The BETD versions today seem smoothed out and polished more.
 
I run the modern RS7 available now on BETD, on my Surly, and they're bombproof. Wouldn't risk it with an older RS1 or RS3 at my weight.
