Looks like an RS8 that. Has this been on and off several bikes?
They came on a bike I bought and luckily spotted it before I paid so was duly negotiated down. Still a pain as I’d of kept them for the build
Exfoliation corrosion. Pretty common with 7075 alloys I believe.Atleast you got to it before it got you
Strange mark on drive side crank? Looks flaky like a bit of Welsh slate!

It's certainly making me wary of CNC cranks. I don't think the machining finish on them is particularly great! Seems odd to forge something then negate the benefits of doing so by machining through...
I've got fully forged cranks lighter than those...bigger BCD spider too not as pretty though
The even earlier Middleburn RS1 are right spindly things. The RS3 is a pretty old crank to be fair.
The RS7 had a DH warranty. The RS8 had slightly more machining out of the back, lighter and intended for XC.
Got RS7 and RS8 on a few bikes and love them. Very solid feel to them. The finish on them is not polished shiny.
The BETD versions today seem smoothed out and polished more.
