This is a bike that I built for my son several years ago when he was four feet ten. He always loved it and actually rode it until he was almost six feet, but more sensibly it will do anybody up to 5-6. I then sold it to a friend whose son was also around 5 feet and now he has outgrown it as well, so I’m selling it on her behalf. Although it has been a child’s bike up to now, I would say it’s a great little bike for any smaller rider.
It has a fairly good spec, 1998 Marzocchi Z2 Light fork, STX-RC groupset, except that the cranks are XT M739 in quite rare 5-arm form, brakes LX M600, front wheel is a Mavic 517 on Kona Javva the Hub, rear is a Mavic 230 on an XT M737 hub, tyres are Specialized Enduro and Conti Escape, kevlar bead, seatpost and saddle are original Orange, stem is Ritchey, bar is Orange Hot Rod, grips are Ritchey WCS and pedals are Tioga Surefoot. There is also a short stem (quite rare in 1” ahead) to suit very small riders. The condition of the paint is not by any means unblemished (see photo for the worst bits), but I have stabilised all chips with zinc and painted over in a goodish silver match and there are no cracks or dents. The kit all seems to be working fine. I’ve replaced the pads and the front shifter and cable, which were the only bits that weren’t up to scratch.
I’m looking for £185 for it, posted. I should say to save time that it’s not going to be split, it will go on eBay if nobody on here wants it as it is.
