My next door neighbours Mango fixie got stolen last night. Not quite sure what happened but I suspect that he only chained the wheels to his fence as they are all that's left of the bike. Two, rather tasty 50mm deep section rims with a flip flop hub. He's offered them to me for next to nothing. One mans trash could turn into my treasure!!
Is it possible to simply swap the flip flop hub for a Sachs hub with a 7 speed cassette? I've had a look online but can only seem to find information on converting a geared bike to fixe but but not the other way round. I did a 700c conversion to my Falcon Majorca last month so I have a set of Sachs hubs with a 7 speed freewheel attached gathering dust. Could there be any issues with spoking the rims??
