ok , bit of a weird one .

at home I have a wireless router from virgin . on the pc , I use firefox wireless , no issues .

on the laptop , all ok till now . I can not connect to the internet via firefox .
when i open it , it goes straight to the firefox homepage ( google search ) , and then is unable to connect to any other web sites .

internet explorer is fine on the laptop , only firefox .

I am assuming it must a be a firewall issue , but have no idea what to do and where to look for it ?

help !!!

You said internet explorer, so safe to assume you're running Windows.

Have a look at Windows Firewall (assuming you're using that rather than some other firewall?) and check if firefox is on the allowed executables?

Thanks will try tonight .

Weird thing is that it was working fine yesterday .

Firefox isn't trying to do an auto update is it? That can cause problems for me sometimes.

Auto updates? Aargh! Oh, the fun we had* at work with Microsoft's auto-updates when Windows Vista went network-wide over the whole site....

*NB: no we didn't.
