Finally got a she zang

Im not sure my SID’s use that type from a quick look. I can see valves down both holes if that makes sense? I think there could be threads too about the size of a presta valve and I’m sure the slightly later Sid’s has this system?

Yeh the ones which came on it were RS3 which are quite a bit earlier in age. I like middleburn stuff but I’ve got another bike which is similair spec to this which is running RS7 withRoyce Bb so needed this to be XTR

As you've had both a zang and lightning, what's the real difference aside from name and country of manufacture? I've a lightning waiting to be built and just curious as to the differences.

A lightning is arguably more rare as not produced for long, but a xizang is top of the tree.

Size and geo wise they are identical. The Xizang is a few grams lighter.

Finish is better marginally on the Xizang but only slightly (welds tidier and little details are more crisp)

Xizang is more striking to look at.

Lightning is still a great frame and rare as was only 97/98.

Had a bit more time earlier to take a proper look over it and add the much needed pressure to the forks. I actually think it’s one bike which now it’s built I won’t change anything on it which is rare.

It’s bang on 10kg which ain’t bad for a period correct build with no silly super light flimsy parts. Compared to my RC200 which is 11kg and very similar spec. I’d guess the weight hides in the frame and fork on the Pace in comparison.

Next question , how do you add air to 98 SIDS? Had these 4-5 years and they are a little soft I think now

My 98 Sid’s had a threaded adapter to a high pressure pump. Sure I have a couple somewhere.
