Fat Chance Ti

Re:

Yolo

You can see IROBOT really got the ‘first pass’ welding dialled in by then. These are the first Ti mountainbike frames EVER to use butted tubing. Its more common these days. Each oversize custom FAT spec Ti tube was time consumingly ‘hand lathed’ as butted/double butted Ti tubes to order didnt exist back then. Very few were ever made as the cost of production was too high with a resulting high RRP. Merlin experimented with chemical Ti tube butting back then but that didnt work out.

Most Ti frames of this era used narrow plain gauge tubing. The BBs flexed a lot under load, traction would break away climbing under load and the ride was skittish on fast descents. These frames eliminated all that but still give that amazing ride forgiveness that only Ti has.

Re: Fat Chance Titanium frame retro MTB // framenumber 125T3ML

VERY IMPORTANT INFORMATION:
-----------------------------------------
Hi everybody:
FYI:

We are the lawful buyers of this exact same frame, = (Ti Fat Chance, (Frame number 125T3ML) as is/was advertised on Ebay co.uk.
The frame was bought by us & IS ALREADY PAID(!)
The seller "Yetinut" confirmed us by E-mail that he has received the money.
Everything was ready, the frame for shipping, when the seller went on Holidays and then when back for some "strange" reasons
either decided to ignore our E-Mails and other attempts to reach him or he maybe "didn't receive" our e-mails-
Either way we didn't hear anything anymore from the seller-
We still want to believe that the seller "Yetinut" is a good & honorable man, who fullfills his obligations of honoring his word and
moreover delivering the mentioned frame (see above) to us.
BUT-
if indeed the seller intended to scam/fool us- we will Report this to the authorithies and he will have to bear the full weight of the law.

I repeat again- I still believe that "Yetinut" is an honorable man, and that he may simply forgot that the frame was already sold.

@M-Power & other Retrobike members you've already commented on the initial sale thread of this bike- please check

Summary:
We will insist on the completion of the Transaction.
@ Retrobike members: You will be updated further!! I still think & hope that the seller is reasonable and honors his word & that
we can complete the Transaction normally without the Intervention of the authorities etc.....

Best regards,

P.S. Should the seller "Yetinut" decide to delete the original sale thread, then this would mean that he indeed wanted to scam us-
therefore this will be used against him. Everthing is printed and screeenshotted already.
Again, we believe that the seller has no reason to do sth like this, as we still look at the case as "he simply forgot that he sold us the frame..."

This is something you should probably take up privately with the mentioned member and the forum mods as there is a process for this type of problem.

I hope it gets resolved.

@ mkone:
Thanks, yes we also look forward to resolve this asap.
Process: In some specific cases-like this one I believe it is important that ALL Retrobike members should be informed, made aware
and IF- the seller indeed acted with the intention to scam us- warned.

The frame was advertised & sold here on RB, but seller never sent the frame.

I think I’ll lock this post for now but will leave it visible.

@Biker23 do PM me if you feel the need. There is an official dispute procedure which I can advise you of if necessary. Hopefully this is all a genuine mistake and things get sorted out quickly.
