I don't do Facebook ... I don't feel the need to tell people what I've had for my tea or when I am taking a dump ...

Facebook is a bit more than that, I use it and share none of that info. I use it to follow companies, chat with people (in private or in closed groups), arange meetings and rides.
I also use it to solve issues with companies, for example with Orange mobiles. Saves ringing them up, waiting for hours to be passed around and then having it maybe fixed wasting my time and money. Instead a quick PM or post in the open depending on what it is and they can sort it out via PM leasurly. Same with other companies.

It is not like Twitter which is the blog and bitch of what you do. (though I don't use it, it is apparently a good/advertising media apparently)
Of course it can be if you choose it to be though.

Like Ben, I only really use it to follow my favourite companies such as Hope and Orange and riders like Ratboy, Peaty and Joe Barnes. There is a few retro groups on there and a buy-sell page which nice stuff pops up every now and then. I very rarely post. It is also a great way to follow events like the recent Tweed run, I can share photos and links to other riders who are featured or shown in them.
