Falcon Kelloggs Cup Winner info

Dirt Disciple
I recent bought one for a fair price., I'd just like to know if the frame is any good, Reynolds. Or just a standard 'gas pipe bike'.
I'm not bothered, its a nice geometry for me with a long top tube.I'd just like to see if anybody here could tell me more. There is little info on them on google so I'm guessing its a lower spec bike. The drive train is Falcon too, it all works OK so I'm happy with it. Need to find a cheap way of improving wet braking. Sheldon brown is my main reference but I've never rebuilt wheelsets before and shops are pricey.
Anyhow thanks for any replies in advance.

I have found that leather brake bocks greatly improve wet weather braking with steel rims, but a modern compound such as Koolstop Salmon is much better when using alloy rims with vintage brakes (GB Courier, Weinmann, Mafac, etc). I have not found any online dealers in the UK that sell the vintage-style blocks in Koolstop Salmon, but they are available on eBay, such as http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from= ... p;_sacat=0

Tour de France winner's bike eh? Would this fit into the category of mechanical doping??

Very very basic bicycle shaped object with Kelloggs decals. Change the wheels to alloy rims, plenty second hand or even new which will improve the braking no-end. The original wheels are nothing special so I wouldnt lose sleep over swapping them and you can always sell them with the bike when its time to move it on.

But then madness comes as you could stick on some Tektro dual pivots, take off the heavy steel chainset and fit a budget alloy one and so on and so forth...
