Falcon Corsair tubing ID

Can anyone confirm for me that this bike is actually 531? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/vintage-retro ... 7675.l2557

I have the same bike without the 531 sticker, and I'm pretty doubtful that it is 531. I'm not inclined to trust any seller that puts "vintage/retro" in the ad title, and fear he may have just bought himself a bunch of 531 stickers.

Yes I think the Carlton Corsair had Reynolds 531 main tubes with the forks and stays hi tensile steel.

Measure the diameter of the saddle pillar/seat pin. 531 plain would be more than 26.4mm anything smaller would probably be seam welded. You might be able to see or feel the seam either down the seat tube or from the bottom bracket.

Seat tube is 27.0mm. I can't feel a seam. But the frame just doesn't feel very light. Is 531 noticeably light?

PLAIN GUAGE 531 equates to a 27.2mm seat post.
