Factory spec Zaskar

Kraygus

Retro Newbie
Hi Guys,
Well I was looking for a bike for around $300AU (190 pound) to sit on the wind trainer and for my wife to ride occasionally, when I came across this on our local buy and sell ….

It was advertised as a 2000 model Zaskar, and was being sold by the original owner. I checked the serial and it turned out to actually be a ’97 frame for a ’98 build. The best bit is that it is all completely original, right down to the grips and tyres!

Looks like I’m still looking for the trainer/ wife bike……

I would say that was a bloody good buy for that. What an awsome find. I like the Zaskar a lot. And that looks a well spec'd and a good condition bike. Nice :)

Thanks Thomas, I was lucky to find it. The work starts now though fixing her back up. All the decals are in pretty bad nick, and it hasn't been cleaned in years, will probably polish the frame while I'm there.
The forks still seems to work well. The guy I bought it from said it had only been offroad around 10 times, so I won't have to do the forks straight away.
It needs a new middle ring and chain but the rest is cosmetic.
My wife keeps asking me when she can have her bike back!

Looks nice!

Forks look a little collapsed to me from the first pic though.

Oli

I read your post and had to go out and check :) . They are coming all the way back up to the bump stop on the second lightest setting (I'm 62kg)
The SL forks do only have a Huge 62 mm travel, so that could be why they look low.

*edit* I just checked again and there does seem to be one point at the top of travel where there is a bit of stiction. That could have been holding them down, good pick up Oli. They probably are dry inside.
