Trebz is proud to present...
The Lincolnshire, East and South Yorkshire Retrobike September monthly ride.
Escape From Doncatraz 2013
:: Date: Sunday 1st September 2013
:: Time: 09:30am for a 10:00am start.
:: Difficulty: 2/5
:: Distance: 33 miles approximately
:: Terrain: Single Track, Double Track, Quiet country Lanes and Trans Pennine Trail.
:: Directions to start location: Start location will be the free, on road car parking to the rear of J&S Accessories Ltd (Motorbike Shop) Marsh Gate, Doncaster, South Yorkshire, DN5 8AF. The shop is opposite the Doncaster branch of Halfords on the west side of the 'North Bridge'.
Turn right when you see the store front (See Image) then left at the mini roundabout, parking is on the right hand side of the road.
:: Food: I have made arrangements for us to stop half way at the RSPB Dearne Valley - Old Moor Nature Reserve for food and drinks however there are many cafe's and shops along the route as it does not stray too far from civilisation. You will find a very informative link to this reserve in the 'Additional Details' section below. My advice would be to bring along a few snack bars if nibbling is your thing and make sure you have some water.
Travelling predominantly via the Trans Pennine Trail this is a nice steady ride which will not be overly taxing for the average rider. The last section will see us pass through some great woodland and an old disused quarry, both of which are used by local Mountain Bike enthusiasts and Motor Cross riders. Be prepared for some technical downhill sections in the last quarter of the ride folks. Remember however, if you don't want to do the downhill sections you don't have to, safety first, remember.
:: NO HELMET, NO RIDE (Gloves recommended).
