The Italian L'Eroica started in 1997 and in the intervening 17 years nobody in the UK has bothered to put on anything similar so give the organisers credit for taking the risk.
!

There is the Pendle Witches Retro Ride which has been running for a couple of years now. It only costs about 20 quid, you can stay in a YHA camping barn for 5 quid a night and the proceeds go to charity.

Seems they have been able to run an event that's sustainable at a very fair price and for a good cause. Good luck to them.
