Early 80's Raleigh Competition

This is my fisrt post on this forum, so I think it's a good idea to start with a presentation of my bike :
It's a Raleigh Competition, from the early 80's, don't know exactly...
A classic lightweight bike, a happiness to ride!

I've never seen this model before. It's absolutely gorgeous. Love that bar bag, too!

I'm hoping to renovate my 80s touring bike during the summer. After seeing your Raleigh I think I'll go for a black finish to the paintwork. Thanks for sharing the photographs of your lovely bike.

Used to have one myself, but it was pearl white with a bluish tinge, with blue box lining and equipped with SR Sakae components mostly. I think it was the '82 model. Sadly it cracked around the lower seat tube above the BB shell from massive internal rust (it was a neglected giveaway when I got it... and required cold setting of a bent fork blade), but I'll never forget how light and quick off the mark it was, and the cutout Prugnant lugs were very neat & desirable. A sad loss.

- A Campa Super Record brakeset from 1983
- A rear derailleur Campa Super Record from 1979
