Duh. Aero toe clips.

I knew this would happen but thought I'd risk it anyway and indeed it was a bargain... but perhaps not.

Just bought some 70s/80s "aero" pedals without the toe clips on the assumption I could easily find some replacements. But oooh no. Is there any drilling/bending bodge you can do with the widely available straight clips to get them to fit, or a cunning alternative made out of a Belgian beer can/wtvr?

Ah, just remembered I do have some of these though. Are they likely to fit? (at work so can't test)

Look like you could cut down a conventional toeclip.
Cut the vertical tab (where the two bolts go through a traditional pedal cage) and then trim the horizontal section ( running towards the toe section ) to fit the aero pedal.
Drill bolt holes to fit.
Might be easier with aluminium or plastic clips if you can find them, as if they're chromed the cuts and holes will rust.
All the best,

Ah yes, of course - looking at it now I see the toe end sticks out beyond where you'd attach the clip to a symmetrical pedal. Well worth a go, thanks for that.

Christophe did make replacement clips for this style of pedal (CXC), as Maillard, Atom etc made them. They turn up occasionally on eBay etc:
