So I pootled off to work with the frame in the back pannier and tried to remove using the vice..... sadly it just cracked the alloy weld, to be honest I expected that, so I picked up a bottle of caustic soda, some tube and a funnel.

I hope you removed that *king headset first. Else that caustic might run along the top tube and dissolve that too. Unless the top tube is sealed at one or other ends.

It does have a postcode, original colour looks to have been gold all over.

Not seen a gold one before, nor one without a frame number…. Where does the postcode tag to? Not that it’s going to help, I just think it’s interesting to know some history.

I haven't seen a gold one either. Unusual, the yellow seems like a good paint but it comes off easy enough but its orrible.
Postcode is Worthing area, every chance this could have been stolen then recovered, then postcoded later in life, would be strange not to file the postcode off too, need to get it dipped and check further.
Might stamp an AM code in for shits n giggles
