Dream Bikes .......

Hi all,I think my dream bike list would be this..

Kona Hei Hei pre 1995
Rock Lobster 853 USA built
Mountain Cycles San Andreas

best auction I've seen on ebay was when john parker sold off his personal collection, tomacs c26, furtado 1990 world champs winning C26, tomacs 24in whl dual slalom bike.. etc :)

Yep Scant that's the one or was in the late '80s anyhow :!:

At least I own some of those yellow forks now...

If I could do the scanning thing (cannot yet) I've got a brouchure from Cycleland picked up at ?'91 Cylex expo, the frameset cost in the region of £900! Also a lush review in Velo Vert (?1990) of an ULTIMATE in blue with Campag Euclid, lovely. :D

just re-read my initial post, obviously I meant 1992 not 1994 re. 10th Anniversary FAT.

MBA review of Manitou (with rigid forks)

for the librarians there's a very deatiled review of such a Rigid Manitou in MBA (they raved & raved...) , see also MBUK early feature on suspension bikes:

Manitou with Manitou (Bradbury handmade sus forks)
Bontrager OR with RS1s In ace white / battleship grey star wars style
Cannobdale ESP (with flex stem!!!)
Offroad Proflex (ditto!!!)

Bradbury Manitou in MBA

BTW I have thought a bit longer and I revise my original shortlist. After seeing MikeyNYC's black FAT on FatCogs.com I conclude such should be ex equo with H-Ball Elev12k on the top on of my list. Two totally different bikes, but both with mucho appeal.

1989 !

Awesome, thanks Elv12k :) My copies of MBA long since got recyled :( . It's from '89!...I'd been Mtb'ing proper just one single year then - no wonder thise seemed ultral cutting edge . Is it just me or does anyone miss the days when the tiniest detail on a mtb , let's say extra wide front hub for example, could generate pages of detailed wrecking crew copy?...
