Did Magura make stems?

Just picked up and old Carrera Katmandu circa 1990.
It's got a non-standard, neon yellow stem with a fairly tatty Magura decal on it.

I've done a brief Google search but nothing is immediately obvious?

Does anyone know?

Was only asking as the bike has a full XT group set and the luminous yellow stem really stood out.
It does have a cable guide beneath it, I guess that should have been a clue... just wasn't sure whether Magura had ever dabbled in anything other then hydrolic brakes?
