Anyone got any info on the Axis R? Done a few interet searches but nothing has come up. I remember seeing one about '97 and thinking it was stunning with the red blue and yellow paintjob

Madcowkev may know too

don't remember seeing an Axis R - or an Axis in that colour but then I gave up MTB's '96-'05!

Thats Jango's era - he'll have the catalogue next to his bed no doubt

Red, blue and yellow AxisR...that'll be a '96 then ;)

I've got a '97 in the 'Nitro Dragster' paint scheme.....at least I will have once I prize it back from my dad....wonder if he'll trade for a Klein

Sorry...I wasn't very informative there was I

'96 AxisR, True Temper TT Lite frameset, rigid fork obviously (can't remember if it's the nice triple butted one or not) mostly xt but with Sugino crank and Gripshift IIRC and Avenir finishing kit.

I don't have a catalogue for that year I'm afraid, anyone got one?

same frame as this http://www.retrobike.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=16763

thats the one

yeah '96 sounds right. was a stunning bike imo. only ever seen one come up on ebay and it was in a bad way. wouldnt mind getting my hands on one but the chances are slim

well, if it's the paintjob that appeals then you're stuck with finding a '96 and beating me to it if it's an 18" ;)

The same TT-Lite frameset however was used from '95 to '98 on both Axis and Apex models so that will broaden the search a little the only difference being the rear canti cable stop disappeared from '96 on.

axis r

well ideally about a 19" would be fine for me so you wont have any competition for any 18" that would come up Jango. pretty sure i've got the '96 catalogue at home. will need to dig it out.

they come in 16", 18" and 20" flavours.

any chance you could scan that catalogue when you find it?
