I wouldn’t say so. 3d printed stuff is quite nice and strong. And it’s only protecting it’s not being put under massive load

You can choose different plastics so you could specify something that's not brittle. (apologies, not sure of the technical terms.)

Ahh right... I've only witnessed examples of items a colleague printed and the plastic was easily broken and wasn't flexible.
