I have a set of Deore XT M752 cranks which normally run 44-32-22 rings, but want to build a tourer and use 48-28-26 rings. The BB should be 113mm or 118mm, I have loads of 113mm axles but am wondering if I need a longer BB. Has anyone tried this combination? If I need a new BB I might as well chuck in the towel and buy a dedicated chainset and BB as the cost of the rings is about the same as a chainset.
