What your initial thoughts on pedals?

Clipless or toeclips?

Part of me wants too find a nice road pedal with a toeclip, part of me wants a clipless, like a bebop or of a similar age, not shimano.

What about a Look pedal? Or a nice Suntour...

I thought the same, i keep looking at the Roberts estay, the spec, and then looking at the Yates and some of the choices and on the one hand it fits with a look pedal, and then i think maybe a roadie vintage pedal.

i keep thinking Yin and Yang with estays from comparable frame builders. then thinking of Deb Murrell and Isla Rowntree and the build choices back in the day.

That bar and stem looks amazing mate. Nice job.

Tyres - I would go with the Tiogas or the Timbuk II's. Do you have some Panaracer Harcore tyres?

Saddle - I would punt for the black turbo. I don't think brown would work with that paint. It would jar too much.m - IMHO!

Good work so far mate :)

Good to see this progressing Carl, looks loverly

Gotta agree with Gio: amberwalls and black saddle.

Re:

What i could do, is take this saddle and re finish it in red....?

could look right with the pedals, also having red Scott-Mathauser brake pads, a little red in the frame, might look right...?

Those Look pedals look the ticket!

What seat post are you going for? Black or silver? I think that will dictate the saddle colour. I only said black because of the bar and stem.

The white saddle might work as the top if the frame is white and then the red in the pedals would fit with the bottom section...

The seat post is the one Chris kindly refinished for me, American Classic in black.

it would be a shame not to find a use for the saddle, but would white look right atop a black seat post....?

It wouldnt be hard to refinish, treat and clear coat the saddle in red, it would wear well once finished, but if it didn't fit the bill, ive landed myself with a red saddle.
