Dave Yates & Me...

Now the above photo has me wondering....

Dave has an almost horizontal chainstay, and that angle is set by the brazed in bottom bracket shell. Whereas the Orange has a lower bottom bracket height in relation to the rear axle.

Could it be that Dave Yates was just jumping on the MTB band wagon and using road bike frame lugs? Whereas Orange, despite outsourcing to Taiwan, were actually building the better geometry of the day 😲

Road bike standard bottom bracket shell & rear dropouts (plus disc brake mount) and then a smooth welded sloping top & headtube to make it attractive to the MTB crowd.
