Daughters first real bike

Retro Newbie
Just built this for under £75, it's an '03 kona scrap I got for free, cobbled together with bits box bits (have loads of juicy 3 levers and calipers I don't remember buying but managed to get a working pair together), got a bargain pair of marzocchi mx comp '03 off ebay for 30 quid or so and a new fsa headset (only bit which isn't period), the rear mech is actually the mech which came with my kona nunu I've posted in a different thread, 27year old bit of kit still working perfectly, love to see a modern fancy electric mech working in 5 years time let alone over quarter of a century later 👍🤔😊

Rant aside I'm somewhat jealous of her first real bike!

I did similar with my two Daughters. First one I put togther was a 14" cindercone that I let my eldest choose the colour of for a fresh powder coat, second one as she out grew it was a 16" explosif with the cindercone being passed down to the younger daughter. They both turned out way better than what I could have bought in my local bike shop and their friends were amazed at how light they were

Heh the white rear triangle you can see in the pics is my eldests firemountain... Was her mums I'm hopeful they get the bug early signs are promising 😁
