Custom stems. Anyone ever had one made?

I'm thinking of having a stem custom made by a frame builder. What I have in mind is, an A-head 110 - 115mm length with maybe a 6 degree rise. Nothing too unusual there but, I'd like it to have an extended steerer clamp to negate the need for spacers. Does that make sense?

So, any of you guy's done anything similar & if so who did you use?

Any input / suggestions welcome.

:)

I haven't had one made myself, but I certainly like the look of them!

That top one is just the kind of thing I had in mind. Might make the rest of the bike look a bit crap though

can't help that I'm afraid :D

I have no idea how much a stem like one of those might cost either!

Not an ahead but gives me plenty of options

I was going to have a bullmoose type affair made when I had my frame made, but I ran out of money

Had a 1&1/4" quill stem made by Greg Fuquay.
Can't remember how much it cost back in 1992 - but it's still on the bike now!
