I’ve stripped it to the frame now. Looks like the decals were cut from paper and lacquered on. Not a bad idea, actually.

The chainset is not sugino. I looked it’s fc m320 which is exage. I would’ve liked sugino, the 30g lighter than xtr is appealing to me.

And surprised to see bb cup made of it plastic. But the bb looks to be in bad shape. I have 1/4 bearings and a reagents should do it.

The Exage chainset and deore shifters point to the '93 Fire Mountain. These had a very similar blueish paint on the rear triangle so that would make sense. The tell will be if this is running a 1" headset - if not then it will likely be the Lava Dome

I would be tempted to strip it right back and go splatter theme on this one, a sort of tribute to the earlier models but with a lighter frame!

I’m actually not sure. Lavadome has impact headset. Fire mountain has yst headset. It’s not either… anyway I’ll check tomorrow.

Another good pointer will be to check the fork steerer for markings and/or weight. The Lava Dome had a triple butted P2 but the Fire Mounted had the P2 Sport
