Managed to find time to fit the headset at the weekend. No other noteworthy progress though, sadly. If I could find that elusive wheelset then things might speed up a little

I’m after a pair with dark anodised rims and the black M730/M732 hubs, or just the hubs. They’re not the easiest to find!

And pics of the frame, even if its only the headset you have fited, would be more than welcome

Sadly I didn’t mate They’d sold before I got the chance.

The Light Beam is another one needing a little time, but fortunately not much money, spent on it

Finally something to add to this thread

I'm going with a full XT build, black where available. Got the bottom bracket removed, regreased and refitted and bolted on the black XT chainset. Bought a nice pair of wheels from a chap in the US; black XT hubs on barely used Ritchey Vantage Comp rims and managed to get most of the crud off the used blackwall Maximum and Reaction tyres I've been saving for this one. XT post and Kona branded Avocet saddle are held in place with an XT QR skewer.
I have the cantis, levers, mechs and pedals for the build but think I'm short of thumbies. Ran out of time to go any further today but it's more progress than I've made with any bike in ages
