Yes they of course could, but as @Guinessisgoodforyou already explained, no branding was allowed on the race bikes, hence elaborate features that anyone would easily establish who the builder was. You don't see similar features on continental bikes. And that's one of the reasons why we, on this forum, are so fond of old British buildersYes, but badges could still be on "normal" bikes.
