Cruiser.....or......Bruiser.....?

LOVE THAT! Nice to see you have the original stand. Many of these got lost as they got mounted to fixed work benches to save space and allow for integrated storage below. Not too dissimilar to my old Myford. Will see if I can dig out some old photos which I took to sell it on eBay...

I see you have an indexed face plate, wonder if the person before had a milling attachment, or just used it for gear cutting? Looks like you have an auto feed on the leadscrew too 👍

Yep indexed faceplate but that's about it! There's a lot of stuff missing.....trying to find the gears for thread cutting....🥴 No chance! Auto feed is handy gives a pretty good finish....be better with a new half nut....mines more half life than....half nut!
Cleaned all the swarf out of it and now there's so much lash in it 😆
Still thats the fun working around it's faults...

Of course....scuse it's filth...it's been working!
Came out of a damp garage....rusty as hell it was.
Put about a week if time into getting up and running right....or as near as! When funds allow I might spoil myself to a dro...😆

Up there with the best bike-related photos ever posted on here.

What I wouldn't give for such a beautiful thing.

And any clue how to use it.

@Mickeyspinn what have you used for the expandable rubber section on the bar end caps? I assume you've nabbed it from something? I have working lathe envy! 🤣 👍
That's a piece of Goodrich 5/8 fuel hose,I'm hoping to find some more of it as the surface finish is so grabby ....I've tried cheapo hose but just doesn't do the job!

Nice job. Amazing the stuff we keep/have 'cos one day it will come in handy! 👌
True... I rarely chuck anything until it's too small to physically get hold off to cut/machine or do something with! If it's mechanical and knackered I usually dismantle it for useable "material" and dump it buckets of similar junk! Somehow my brain logs I've got four of those unique odd fixings..........but Murphy's law says when I need those 4 I can only ever find 3 😆
