For Sale Cook Designs frame/fork + “stuff”

NWisGooderest!

Dirt Disciple
A true rare bird.
$800 or best offer.
In no hurry to sell but making room for a Newsboy project.
Chris Cook (of Cooks Brothers Racing) produced 40 frames in the timeframe of 87-90 as a side business from the component
Of the 40 produced only 2 have any web presence.
One from the great Canadian Retro Roy on RetroBike. It’s a purple one and it is a stunner.
The other is offered here.
18” frame, 1” threaded steerer tube, 80mm press fit industrial bearing with it’s own special JIS bb spindle (in fine shape).
Headset is a Torelli 1” which is pretty fitting since they were a SoCal player back in the late 80’s.
Early Cook frames were filet brazed and heavy on the BMX influence (very rad). This is all ATB with tig welding.
I have not done anything on the “rough” spots since the frame is totally straight.
Including stem, GT bar (it is called Palomar - a GT namesake), JIS bb ready for your XCPro or XT, “meh” Axiom 26.8 post since the XCPro post was toast, SunTour post QR, SunTour Expert cantis and levers, a Selle Italia Turbomatic 2 since it’s in the right era and it’s rocking the yellow and even yellow foam grips (fashion ya know).

Want super rare - check!
One of forty made and only 2 know examples (well, more? My search abilities is not military grade).
Great condition?
Straight through out.
Wear marks? The person who had it before me was the original owner and Norm (of Sandpoint Idaho) made every wear mark with the best of adventure in mind.

I’d rock it as a city bike but it’s too small for me.
Hell, if you’re really doing a retro build I’ll include a set of 1st year original Panaracer Smoke tires (pre Dart) in near perfect condition.
Extra attention to detail had ferrule adaptors machined to fit the SunTour barrel adjuster (details).
In Seattle Wa so if you’re in the PNW that will save you some $ on shipping. Buyer pays shipping.

Very nice!! 👍

And by the way - there is a third (in my barn) 😉
super rad. #3 and spectacular looking build.
Do you ride it much?
I lived at Mammoth Mnt when these were made so saw only a rare handful.
Mine was in my sister’s garage and was going to be given to a neighbor kid.
He said he wanted to use it as target practice with his new shotgun (Northern Idaho - I kid you not).
