Hey! So I'm tired of buying bottom brackets and having them being too narrow. Does anyone have a clue what size bottom bracket would be suitable for this setup? I have a 127mm bottom bracket right now in my 1997 Hei Hei and the cranks clear but by the skin of my teeth.
Thanks fellers! Andrew

i have a set of rsr cooks, and i am using a 125mm bottom bracket.
i have had the same problems with different frames.
i had to use a 127mm bottom bracket on one of my frames.
sounds like you just need a wider bottom bracket. hope you get it sorted.
jeff.

Re:

OK thanks, yeah I read that most people seemed happy with 127mm bb's but this 127 has the crank set so close my front derailleur won't engage the granny ring. Not sure if there is some sort of a guide. Guess I just have to measure from the stay to the ring, compare it to my other bikes and double it for the additional bb length. Clearance seems to around a cm or so on my other bikes.

What the measurement for the chainline you have on the 127? That should be long enough for these.
The actual cook BB was an adjustable chainline affair too which helped though.
Needs older rings on those cranks, lovely though they are ;-)

Its a long time, 20 years since I fitted it but I seem to remember it needed a 132mm axle for my 1990 Cannondale running Cooks.

Just found one on Ebay (click here). Mine has a FAG as it was the only type I could find easily back then.
