Colnago Saddle question

I've been riding on a Flite ti saddle for some years now, and even though it's light and great looking, it just hurts too much to continue to ride on (I'll post it in the "for sale" section later). So I've been keeping a look out for a different saddle that would look good on my 97' sapphire fade Yo Eddy, but I haven't found much. I was really hoping to find an older WTB with ti rails and blue kevlar back panels, but those don't come around too often. Then I found this on ebay:

It's the best looking saddle I've ever seen, but it's pretty pricy and I have no idea about the comfort level of these things. Also, it's a road saddle... does that matter?

If anyone has ever used one of these Colnago Master C40 saddles, please tell me how they feel and if they're actually worth this much.

Re: Colnago Saddle question (road saddle on an mtb?)

You realise that a Flite is a road saddle... so long as it's comy doesn't mater what you put it on.

Re: Colnago Saddle question (road saddle on an mtb?)

hmmm, no I never realized that. I guess I've only seen them on mountain bikes, but then again, I don't really pay too much attention to roadsters. I'm more interested to know how comfortable they are.

Re: Colnago Saddle question (road saddle on an mtb?)

10 people could give you 10 different answers to that question, and it still won't give your butt a guarantee.

Any saddle feels okay for 30 minutes. Take it out all day and you may find yourself having panic attacks at the mere mention of the same bum-perch.

Saddles are a very personal thing, over time you get to know what works for you. Some saddles are more widely loved than others, such as the Turbo or the Rolls, which is a cue for someone to come along and rant about how they hated the Turbo or the Rolls.

I love Flites, for what it's worth, so my rump isn't your oracle. And gees doesn't THAT sound weird out of context...

Grumps

That's true, but I'm sure a consensus can be reached on the level of plushness or firmness of a saddle. The Turbo for example, is much more plush than the Flite; and the Flite is only slightly more plush than a granite slab.

I can tell you they were made in Italy by Selle Bassano, makers of quite comfy saddles. I would never, ever spend that much on a similar item. They must have cost 50-60 Euros new (in Italian Lira). The finish was pretty typical of Selle Bassano. If you find one for under 100 Euros and you are a Colnago fanatic, go for it, otherwise, pass.
