Colnago Identification

aeroBLOKE

Retro Newbie
Hi,

I recently purchased this at an amazingly low price , and I would like to work out what model it is. It has colnago stamped dropouts, and the serial number on the dropout is 1b723

The original owner told me it was made from columbus sl tubing and that he purchased it 17 years ago but how can I confirm or deny this?.

I will let the pictures do the talking. But any insight at all would be appreciated.

colnago's seem to be notoriously hard to date/define models i'm afraid, the only help i can offer is that many columbus tubed machines seem to have the small "dove" emblem on the fork steerer, also,if it is slx you can feel rifling on the inside of the tubing(you have to take the bb out to get your finger in),sl was smooth inside.

Early 90s Super perhaps?

Maybe it is in the catalogues on the Bulgier site or overhere in Gallery 2

Nice Campag parts as well

What is stamped on the drop-outs? If Campagnolo, then it's probably a late-80s Super whereas Colnago = likely to be a C92 or C93. For 1994, C94 went to the straight-bladed Prescia fork

The brakes alone are worth a fortune, Deltas go for silly money.

I would suggest you check that fork - maybe it's just lens distortion, but the blade looks bent back as though it's been shunted at some time.

But a lovely frame, and nice to see a real Colnago rather than a fake one...

yeh all the parts will be sold to fund a new groupset and wheels:) The deltas have the rare century finish so hopefully that pushes there price up more:)

the fork is in A1 condition, no shunts, just camera angle.

and yeh, I was looking through a local classified website and saw this listed, at first glance I assumed a fake. But then I saw deltas and jumped with joy that It was real! and who can complain for $200 AUD
