Thinking back nearly 50 years, the LBS I worked in had 3 sprocket boards. Two behind the counter in the retail area next to the door into the workshop, a Maillard (blue) to one side of the doorway and a white one on the other side (can't remember what sprockets went on there, might have been Suntour, but it was nearly always next to empty) and then there was a Regina Extra board in the workshop.

Agreed, they owned it in terms of aspirations, but in what was out there for off the peg bikes it was Shimano, Huret, simplex and good ol' sturmey archer
